Cycle Planning
Short Tip: The activity of planning the development cycle.
What is it?
It consists in planning the development cycle. This planning can also include the allocation of specific human or material resources, risk assessment, acquisitions, specific communication, among others.
Why use it?
Since it is a mainly predictive product, the development cycles have already been planned in advance, however, without the necessary refinement for each cycle. Therefore, making a quick plan for what will be carried out in the cycle is relevant in order to make all resources available and reduce risks.
How to use it?
The planning is conducted by the Initiative Leader, and the following steps are recommended:
- Define the Cycle Backlog with the teambased on the schedule and on high-level technical specifications already made.
- If a release is scheduled for the end of the Cycle, then the necessary communication and the systematic feedback collection should be planned at this point.
- The Development Team should list any specific human or material resources not included in the current plan.
