Stakeholders

Short Tip: The relevant people required to identify and deliver a valuable product.

What is it?

Stakeholders are individuals that somehow can modify the potential value of a product or solution.

This capability can occur initially in the value identification. Product’s user, UX (User eXperience) team members, business managers directly related to the product are common examples of stakeholders that can help to create solutions with greater value.

Stakeholders can also influence the value of delivery. The finance manager, technical specialists required for product delivery or even other members impacted by the solution are also examples of possible stakeholders.

Duties

In the Conception phase, stakeholders participate as team members, without any hierarchical distinction. Their role, as any other team member, is to contribute to the identification of the best solution for the user’s problem.

In the Building and Use phase, stakeholders are not formal team members and, therefore, don´t carry specific duties. However, they must be called, as required, to participate in key events, such as the Sprint Review and Roadmap presentations.
