What is it?

It is the set of technical activities that the team must carry out before starting the development.

For example, if it is software development, it may be necessary to configure environments, define IT frameworks to be used, a basic architectural model of the solution, etc.

Why use it?

A well-conducted technical preparation activity can accelerate the team’s initial speed and minimize impediments.

How to use it?

The technical preparation is highly dependent on product type and company context. Some items, listed below, may be considered necessary in this stage.

• Providing and/or configuring hardware or software;
• Team training in specific processes, techniques or software;
• Providing a ‘war room’ or other infrastructure;
• Allocating human resources currently unavailable in the team.
